Hiya.

Welcome to my little polymathic corner of the internet. I write about just about everything, but I have an especially soft spot for food, cats, Harry Potter, and embracing the crazy unpredictability of life.

Enjoy the ride!

Pre-Order Eat More Plants and You Can Thank Me Later

Pre-Order Eat More Plants and You Can Thank Me Later

I just finished a month of Whole30: For 30 days, I didn’t drink alcohol or eat sugar, dairy, grains, or legumes. I have many thoughts about it, but they all boil down to this: My body likes vegetables. (And meat. But that’s not the point of this post so … moving on.)

I’m no doctor, but I can all but guarantee that, to some degree or another, all bodies like vegetables. Therefore, all bodies need to log onto Amazon.com and order my friend Molly’s cookbook: Eat More Plants.

OMG what are you waiting for? Go pre-order Molly’s cookbook!

Not only is “eat more plants” one of my favorite hashtags — it’s also a daily goal of mine. And Molly makes it easy. On her blog, Spices in My DNA, she posts new recipes almost daily, and many of them feature vegetables front and center. And don’t get me started on her gorgeous food photography. She’s the DaVinci of food blogging.

This is Molly’s Spring Burrata with Green Goddess Pesto. DO YOU SEE HOW GORGEOUS THIS IS?

Everyone has a natural talent, but not everyone has a chance to showcase it. One of Molly’s talents is understanding ingredients and how they complement and play with each other. And lucky for us, she’s showcasing it for all of us to see in her new cookbook!

I’m sure you’ve pinned a recipe on Pinterest, only to make it one day and realize that the author obviously didn’t test it out before publishing it. You don’t have to worry about that with Molly’s recipes. I’ve tried many of them, and every one of them has been delicious. (And in my book, she is the bona fide QUEEN of all things Green Goddess.)

Her new cookbook comes out on August 20, but you can pre-order it now! Here are some of the recipes I’m most looking forward to (thanks, Amazon “Look Inside!”):

  • Chopped Salad with Cilantro, Corn, Cotija, and Charred-Poblano Ranch (Give me all the Mexican food.)

  • Summer Abundance Peach, Mint, and Arugula Salad (I heart arugula so much.)

  • Beet Noodle Bowls with Turmeric-Roasted Chickpeas and Ginger-Almond Butter Dressing (What has happened to me? I’m voluntarily eating beets?!)

  • Pesto Soft-Scrambled Egg Bowls with Peas and Avocado (I. Love. Every. Single. Ingredient. In. This. Recipe. Title.)

  • Crispy Kale Cacio e Pepe with Lemon-Herb Breadcrumbs (Cacio e pepe is one of the simplest-yet-most-decadent meals out there.)

  • Avocado Tempura Tacos with Charred-Poblano Ranch Slaw (OMG TEMPURA AVOCADO.)

  • Crispy Smashed Potatoes with Chive-Dill Sour Cream (Potatoes are one of the reasons I survived Whole30.)

  • Green Goddess Gazpacho Shooters (I TOLD you she’s the queen of green goddess!)

  • Cashew Cheese Avocado Toast (Cashew cheese fascinates me.)

  • Dark Chocolate Zucchini Cake (Finally, I will have a way to use up the copious amounts of zucchini we get in our CSA share!)

  • Ginger-Beet Moscow Mules (Dear God, now I’m looking forward to drinking beets. I don’t know who I am anymore.)

I will post more once I get my hands on the cookbook and start making ALL THE THINGS. Let me know when you get your own copy, so we can have a cookbook party!
